Registered Communications Distribution Designer
Overview:
Seeking an experienced ICT infrastructure professional with a valid RCDD certification from BICSI to lead the design, implementation, and governance of structured cabling and communications systems.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and oversee structured cabling systems (copper & fiber) for enterprise environments
• Develop ICT infrastructure for data centers, campus networks, and smart buildings
• Ensure compliance with industry standards (ANSI/TIA, ISO/IEC, BICSI best practices)
• Produce and review design drawings, specifications, and BoQs
• Coordinate with stakeholders (IT, facilities, vendors, construction teams)
• Support project planning, cost estimation, and implementation oversight
• Troubleshoot and optimize network infrastructure performance
Required Qualifications:
• Active RCDD certification (BICSI)
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 5–10+ years of experience in ICT / telecom infrastructure design
• Strong knowledge of structured cabling, fiber optics, and network design
• Experience with data center standards (TIA-942, Uptime Institute) preferred
Preferred Skills:
• Experience with large-scale enterprise or government projects
• Familiarity with wireless, AV, and security systems integration
• Proficiency in design tools (AutoCAD, Revit, Visio)
• Strong documentation and stakeholder communication skills
Certifications (Preferred):
• RCDD (required)
• Additional BICSI or network certifications (e.g., CCNA/CCNP) are a plus
